How to Download Free Dynamic ps3 Themes

If you have never thought of changing your PlayStation 3 theme then you are really missing out on some cool and dynamic ps3 themes to pimp up your console. If you don't know what a ps3 theme is or where to look to get one or how it installs on your console then let me tell you.

Changing your ps3 theme can give the menu bar and background of your PlayStation 3 console a completely new look. An appearance that can relax you if you choose a cool ps3 theme or just go for a funky look and amaze your friends with a dynamic theme. There are now three types of themes that you can download as a PlayStation 3 theme:

• Themes (free ps3 themes)
• Dynamic Themes (includes moving ps3 themes)
• Premium Themes (some of these are quality!)
  

If you are new to understanding themes then scroll along your ps3 icons to PlayStation Network and tab down until you reach the end which is PlayStation Store. You will have to have broadband Internet connection for this but if you are reading this still i expect you to have this. Press x on your dual shock controller and enter the PlayStation Store which is rapidly getting better and better and is still free - bonus!

Themes are found under the heading 'other media' - media (second icon along) - press x and there they all are. Looking under the themes heading there are some great free ps3 themes to be had. My favourites include Fallout 3, Fear 2 and Flowers theme. By the way Flowers is a top game so check out my review here. There are currently hundreds of free ps3 themes to download so i am not going to look at all them.

Once you settle on a theme for your ps3 then then click on the icon for example the Pain: Muffy Theme and press the cross button to download which will take a few seconds. Then what you need to do is:

• Scroll to settings on the PlayStation 3 home menu and select theme settings
• Tap the cross button to display theme menu and press cross again to display the theme
• Your newly downloaded Pain:Muffy Theme will be there so press cross again and enjoy!
  

You now know how to download and install ps3 themes to pimp up your PlayStation Home menu so i will look at dynamic themes. There are a few free ps3 dynamic themes to try with Wipeout HD and Motorstorm:Arctic Edge probably being the best two. In the latter one a racing driver walks across your screen (not literally!) which is a cool ps3 theme. If you fancy spending a massive £1.59 or roughly $2.50 then the Little Big Planet ps3 dynamic theme is one of the best ps3 themes - called Sackboy on the run.

I would think there are about 80 ps3 dynamic themes to choose from ranging from free up to £1.59/$2.50. It is a relatively new concept so will keep improving and perhaps those with a 3DTV might get some 3D themes soon. I have become a little bit bored of the whole 3DTV push recently and think it could bomb like the mini-disc.

Premium ps3 themes look really great and give your PlayStation Home menu a unique and customised feel. This type of theme is not a moving ps3 theme but has around four different background and home menu looks per theme. Some of these are visually stunning like Bald Eagles, Dark Fantasy Skulls and the unbelievably good Nordic Warrior Theme which is visually sensational. To download some of these cool ps3 themes it will cost between £1.19/$1.80 up to the hefty price of £2.49/$3.70 for the After Burner Climax theme.
